University of Tokyo, Oracle Japan Start Joint Research in Biotechnology Field.

The University of Tokyo (東京大学
 and Oracle Japan jointly announced on August 24 that they have launched a joint biotechnology research project.

As a part of the university's initiative to stimulate interactions between academia and the society, the university and the company will establish a technical base to comprehensively analyze life science information.

Specifically, they will analyze information on cells including genomes. Further, Oracle Japan will provide the university with various support, including its database products, research expenditure and expertise in data analysis.
