Any member of the ungulate family Equidae, which includes the modern horses, zebras, and asses, all in the genus Equus, as well as more than 60 species known only from fossils. Equines descended from the dawn horse (see Eohippus).
 herpesvirus-4 mutant which does not produce a functional thymidine kinase Thymidine kinase TK, is an enzyme, a phosphotransferase (a kinase): 2'-deoxythymidine kinase, ATP-thymidine 5'-phosphotransferase, EC 2.7.1.75. It can be found in most living cells. It is present in two forms in mammalian cells, TKI and TKII.  due to a deletion and/or insertion in the gene encoding thymidine kinase, the deletion and/or insertion made at a position within the thymidine kinase gene such as to not substantially alter expression of the UL24 gene.
