Public policy researcher Scott Goldsmith of the Institute of Social and Economic Research at the University of Alaska Anchorage has been awarded the 2006 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence for his exemplary service work at the university.

Goldsmith has been with the university for 30 years, both at ISER and as a professor of economics within the College of Business and Public Policy. He also served as director of ISER from 2001 to February 2005.

The late Edith R. Bullock, a former regent and benefactor of the university, established the Bullock Prize for Excellence in 1990 through a generous gift to the University of Alaska Foundation. The Foundation board of trustees awards the prize, a $20,000 cash award, annually.
