OTC See over-the-counter market (OTC). :UMSI) Thursday announced it has launched a world-wide marketing program through its subsidiary, Life Sciences Inc. The introduction of the program was made at the 23rd annual symposium sponsored by Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine held in New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of , Nov. 21-24. The purpose of the meetings was to address current issues and new techniques in vascular and endovascular surgery Endovascular surgery is a form of minimally invasive surgery that was designed to access many regions of the body via major blood vessels. Endovascular techniques were originally designed for diagnostic purposes. . During this event, Life Sciences announced its upgrade program for the installed base of approximately 3,500 Pulse Volume Recorders (PVR See DVR. ) to address the current requirements for diagnosis of vascular diseases vascular diseases, n.pl diseases of the peripheral circulatory system. . Will Rogers, director of Marketing for Life Sciences, stated that commitments were received for initial orders for 26 upgrade systems, and Life Sciences is initiating a nation-wide program through dealers, distributors, direct mail and advertising. Plans are to generate in excess of $1.0 million sales by 6/30/97 on this program, and over $1.5 million during the ensuing 12 months. Life Sciences also has announced that the new generation system, the PVR 5, will be introduced into the market by mid-1997. Current plans are to generate in excess of $3.5 million in sales in the U.S. market by December 1998. During this same period, the company will also launch a program to secure service agreements from the very large, current customer base. As a result of the recently announced agreement in the Far East for production, marketing & distribution of UMSI products with the STC STC Supplemental Type Certificate (FAA) STC Society for Technical Communication STC Subject to Change STC Surf the Channel (website) STC Sound Transmission Class STC Singapore Turf Club Corp. in Seoul, Korea, the Life Sciences PVR 4 will be introduced into the Far East by the end of January 1997. Since this is virtually an untapped market, significant sales are expected for both the PVR 4 and later on, the PVR 5. Over $80.0 million of the PVR's have been sold in the U.S. market, and the potential for the Asian market is equal to or greater than the U.S. market.
