Universal Insurance Holdings, Inc. Applies for American Stock Exchange Listing.


FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Universal Insurance Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:UVIH), a provider of property and casualty insurance, today announced that it has applied for listing of its shares of common stock on the American Stock Exchange LLC (AMEX). Although no assurances can be given, the Company believes it will be able to meet the listing requirements.

Bradley I. Meier, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, said, "The submission of our application to AMEX is an important step in gaining greater exposure in the investment community. We believe that the listing of our common stock on AMEX will enhance shareholder liquidity and value. We are pleased to be taking this step in the capital markets."

Universal Insurance Holdings, Inc. is a vertically integrated insurance company.
