Universal Guardian Holdings, Inc. Announces Appointments to its Board of Directors.

Universal Guardian Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:UGHO) announced today the appointment of the following individuals to its Board of Directors: Michael J. Skellern, Dennis M. Cole and Thomas J. Pernice. The appointees collectively bring to the Company significant experience in Military, public industry, law enforcement and Government arenas, and all are outstanding members in their respective professional fields.
Michael J. Skellern, appointee to UGHO Board of Directors, is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Guardian Corporation and has more than 20 years of international executive management and defense consultancy experience. Also the founder and CEO of Pacific International, Inc (PI), he has provided strategic business services, resulting in substantial international growth, for Fortune 100 companies, client roster including multi-national companies American Standard, Borden, Bosch, General Electric, Ingersoll Rand and Sotheby's. PI's services include global joint venture and strategic partnership development, corporate re-structuring, financial services, as well as product and program development for Military, Government and commercial organizations.
Mr. Skellern has also been an active consultant in the defense sector regarding the development of non-lethal and special operations projects and their adoption and deployment, working with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Office of Naval Research and the Department of Defense Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program. Mr. Skellern served in the U.S. Army in the United States, Asia and Europe from 1967 to 1971.
Dennis M. Cole, appointee to UGHO Board of Directors, is the President and General Manager of UGHO's Special Weapons Group, and has an extensive 31 years' experience in the domestic and international law enforcement field in Special Operations, Training and Sales. Prior to joining Universal Guardian, Mr. Cole was a Captain on the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, where he developed many of the special weapons and tactics (SWAT) techniques currently used by law enforcement agencies around the world, one being a technique of pre-event site assessment of high-risk targets. Further developing tactics for crisis resolution, he has collaborated with a wide array of Government agencies inclusive of the Central Intelligence Agency, U.S. Navy, Transportation Safeguards Division of the Department of Energy, Secret Service, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and the National Institute of Justice. Previous postings include President of the Training Division of Jaycor Tactical Systems in San Diego, fireboat captain in San Diego Harbor, Chief of Police for the City of Vista, California, Director of the San Diego Regional Public Safety Training Institute at Miramar College and Commander of the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail (SWAT).
Recognized by the State of California as a subject matter expert in the application of non-lethal chemical agents, he has availed himself as an expert witness on crisis management, tactical resolution of high-risk incidents and the delivery of non-lethal chemical agents in federal, state and local courts, and is often called upon to consult on crisis management issues nationwide. Mr. Cole served in the US Army in Southeast Asia 1967-1968.
Mr. Thomas J. Pernice, appointee to UGHO Board of Directors, has served as a senior corporate executive in Government and the public market industry for over 18 years. Most recently, Mr. Pernice has sat as a Managing Director of Cappello Group Inc., an affiliate of Cappello Capital Corp., a licensed investment bank specializing in equity and convertible securities investment, M & A advisory and financial restructuring services as well as served as an Officer and Vice President of Public Affairs for the Dole Food Company overseeing media communications and corporate legislative and political strategies.
Prior to joining Dole, Mr. Pernice served in The White House for over seven years -- most as a Senior Staff Member -- with the Reagan and Bush Administrations. Appointed in 1988 as Assistant to the Vice President and Director of Advance in the Bush/Quayle Administration, he was chief advisor for coordination of the Vice President's official, political and diplomatic activities, and, in the Reagan Administration, served as a Presidential advance representative managing press coverage for the White House Press Corps, including the U.S.-Soviet Summits in Moscow and the annual Seven-Nation Economic Summits.
