Univers Info Becomes DTM Information Technology Group Inc. Adopts a Two Pronged Development Strategy.

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 16, 1997--DTM(ME UNV.) Shareholders attending the Annual General Meeting of Univers Info today approved a name change for the company. Univers Info will henceforth be known as DTM Information Technology Group Inc. Mr. Karol Brassard, Chief Executive Officer, also revealed two major strategies which will guide the company over the coming years. The first is to increase activity in the professional services sector, expected to grow dramatically and to create attractive margins. As well, the company intends to further augment its expertise and expand its services on a national scale through acquisitions and strategic alliances.

1996 was a year of consolidation for DTM (formerly Univers Info) which will now devote its resources to the development of activities in the integrated computer services sector. The acquisition of DTM in Montreal and in Quebec in 1994 raised the company's ranking to third in this industry in Quebec. The financial results posted in 1996 bear positive witness to this new orientation. Year end earnings rose to $406,000 or $0.12 per share compared to a loss of $2.3 million or $0.66 per share in 1995.

"This performance is primarily the result of our strong growth and our vast expertise in the area of professional services. DTM is, in effect, the only company in Quebec to offer a complete range of integrated technical services from network architecture to wiring," stated Mr. Alex Delisle, DTM President.

Professional services accounted for slightly more than 6 percent of all sales and generated 15 percent of gross profit. The medium term objective is to increase revenues from this sector to 10 percent.

DTM, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary, was selected in 1996 to collaborate on several prestigious projects, notably le Centre Molson, le Casino de Montreal, University of Laval Hospital and l'Ecole des hautes etudes commerciales. A vast and highly technical expertise, combined with the quality of its services, clearly distinguish DTM from its competitors.

Shareholders also voted on changes to the Board of DTM. Jean-Luc Lussier has relinquished his post as Chairman to Karol Brassard. Mr. Lussier remains on the Board. Mr. Delisle has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of DTM. As well five (5) new members were named to the Board.

DTM Information Technology Group Inc. operates in two sectors which are both autonomous and complementary, specifically the sale of major brand name computer hardware and the provision of professional services, including the design and installation of client-server networks, integration and client support services.
