), today announced the election of Royall Victor III to its board of directors.

In making this announcement, Gordon E. Crosby, Jr., chairman of the board and chairman of the executive committee of USLIFE, said: "We are very pleased to have Mr. Victor join the United States Life board of directors. His expertise in finance and investments will certainly complement our diversified and dedicated board of directors."

Royall Victor III, 58, is managing director of Chase Securities, Inc., a position he held with Chemical Securities, Inc. prior to the merger of Chemical Bank with Chase Bank. He joined Chemical Bank in 1964 and successively rose through numerous management positions over the past 32 years.

In 1971, he was named vice president - district head at the New York office with responsibility for corporate and correspondent banking business in four mid-Atlantic states plus the District of Columbia District of Columbia, federal district (2000 pop. 572,059, a 5.7% decrease in population since the 1990 census), 69 sq mi (179 sq km), on the east bank of the Potomac River, coextensive with the city of Washington, D.C. (the capital of the United States). . In 1975, he was promoted to vice president and general manager of Chemical Bank's Paris branch, concentrating on corporate indigenous and international banking business.

Mr. Victor was appointed in 1977 to senior vice president - division head with global responsibility for corporate banking in New York, New England, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and the District of Columbia, and significant involvement with major as well as foreign multinationals.

In 1980, he was elected senior vice president - banking and corporate finance group with responsibility for the operations of the corporate banking group in the United States. In 1989, he was appointed managing director of the banking and corporate finance group, which provides primary client management for Chemical Bank's largest and most important corporate clients.

Mr. Victor is a member of the board of directors of U.S. Industries, Inc., The Angler's Club of New York, Atlantic Salmon Atlantic salmon
