United States : CAC launches construction secures major boon.
The Masonic Family Health Foundation made the donation, which comes as a major boon for the new outpatient care center.
The launch, which had the participation of State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz, Ald. Tom Tunney, donors, administrators, physicians and hospital staff, was held on the construction site.
The CAC will be home to the medical center's Creticos Cancer Center, the Digestive Health Center and an enlarged Ambulatory Surgery Center, all services which have been considered as most required by Chicago's North Side community.
The project to build the 156,000-square-foot building is sited on Wilton Avenue, between Barry Ave. and Nelson St., behind the existing main hospital entrance. The medical center has joined hands with architect SmithGroupJJR and Turner Construction to plan the outpatient medical pavilion.
Addressing the gathered crowd of over 250 attendees, Susan Nordstrom Lopez, Advocate Illinois Masonic president, said : 'Much time and lots of very hard work by many people led up to this day. As construction occurs, you ll see the results of thoughtful input from patients, doctors, associates, families, community groups, architects and engineers. Through the devotion and support of Advocate and all of our generous friends, we start building it today.'
