United States: Airport commissioners award contract extension for LAX redesign.

The revised contract, now worth more than $18.3 million, allows HOK Inc. to continue designs for the airport's Vertical Improvement Program through the end of 2011.

In a related move, the airport commission on Monday also awarded a $8.7 million contract to W.E. O'Neil Construction Co. to perform various architectural modifications that will allow for the installation of 32 escalators and 16 elevators as part of the the first phase of the replacement project.
