United States: ACC snags grant to train green energy instructors.

Austin Community College Austin Community College is a regional community college district with seven campuses located in various areas of Central Texas. The college's district is made up of the City of Austin and the Austin, Leander, Manor and Del Valle Independent School Districts.  District received a $74,000 grant to train more green energy instructors. The State Energy Conservation office awarded the grant with the aim of helping faculty from community and technical colleges develop curriculum related to green energy technologies.

Having a sufficient number of college faculty trained in the specifics of solar installation instruction will assist Texas as it continues efforts in moving toward a greener economy and energy independence, said Kirk White, interim executive dean for Continuing Education continuing education: see adult education.
