United Kingdom: BA Delays First Airbus A380 Delivery One Year To 2013.

 PLC has delayed the delivery of its first A380 aircraft by one year, in a move to better match supply with expected demand and cut capital expenditure, a BA spokeswoman said Friday. BA Chief Executive Willie Walsh Willie Walsh (born in 1961) is an Irish airline executive. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of British Airways and is a former Chief Executive of Aer Lingus
Early life
Walsh was born in Dublin, Ireland. He attended his local secondary school Ardscoil Rís.
 said the U.K. carrier's first delivery is now expected in 2013, following discussions with airplane manufacturer Airbus.

It will now take delivery of four aircraft during the financial year ending March 31, 2014, rather than six. It will take three A380 aircraft in the financial year ending 2015, three in 2016 and two during the financial year ending 2017.

In July, BA announced a five-month delay in the delivery of the first six Airbus A380s The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, four-engined airliner manufactured by the European corporation Airbus, an EADS subsidiary. The largest passenger airliner in the world, the A380 made its maiden flight on 27 April 2005 from Toulouse, France,[2] , which it had expected the first to arrive in 2012. At the time, it said the delivery of the remaining six A380s would be delayed by two years, arriving in 2016. The last deliveries are still planned for 2016.
