Unit Instruments achieves ISO 9001 certification.

YORBA LINDA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 1996--Unit Instruments Inc., (NASDAQ:UNII) Monday announced that its primary manufacturing facility for mass flow controllers and related products in Yorba Linda, Calif., has achieved ISO 9001 registration from the National Standards Authority of Ireland(NSAI) and that its U.K. division, based in Dublin, Ireland, achieved ISO 9002 registration also from NSAI.

Mike Doyle, Unit's president and chief executive officer, stated "Unit's ISO registration at these key locations demonstrates the company's overall commitment to quality in our products and services worldwide. The recent registration reflects our efforts over many years to develop and enhance our Continuous Improvement Program. We are honored that these efforts have been recognized. Our ISO registrations will allow current and potential customers to identify Unit as a company dedicated to quality."

ISO 9001 is the most comprehensive level in the ISO 9000 series. It is awarded to companies in the U.S. that meet quality standards set forth by the International Standards Organization (ISO). "Unit's first-pass registration after the ISO audit clearly demonstrates that, since 1994 when our Continuous Improvement Program began, the company has made excellent progress in minimizing defects in products and in the manufacturing process. This has resulted in significantly improved quality and reduced manufacturing time for Unit," said Richard Donaldson, the Quality System Management Representative for Unit.
