Unisys and Lenel in alliance to market integrated IT and physical/plant security solutions.

Unisys Corporation (NYSE:UIS) and Lenel Systems International, Inc. recently announced a strategic alliance to market information technology (IT) based solutions that afford large enterprise clients a unified way to manage security at multiple facilities. These solutions are designed to provide higher levels of protection for employees, intellectual property and a wide range of physical plants and assets.

The companies announced the alliance here at the American Society for Industrial Security's (ASIS) 48th International Seminar and Exhibits.

Unisys also intends to deploy an integrated security system incorporating Lenel's OnGuard Total Security Knowledge Management Solutions to enhance security at its facilities around the world.

The solution that Unisys and Lenel will market provides a way to integrate and manage access control, ID/credential management, alarm monitoring, physical asset management, visitor management and digital video. It integrates with human resources and facilities databases in a secure network environment to provide a seamless way to verify the identities of authorized employees and visitors, track their movements into and out of facilities, and control access to critical assets--including PCs and other equipment on the corporate network.

Lenel's comprehensive suite of OnGuard Total Security Knowledge Management Solutions software provides the core technology for the solution. It provides a unified, scalable integration and management software tool for all major security components. It also supports a broad range of equipment from multiple vendors, including ID/credential printers, smart card and biometric readers, PCs, and video recorders. Unisys provides a full range of consulting, integration, management and support services to create the secure, integrated IT infrastructure required for clients to realize optimal benefits from the solution.
