Unisys Wins $38 Million Systems Integration Contract for Philippines Land Transport Office IT Project.

MANILA, Philippines--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 1999--

Unisys Philippines announced today that it was awarded a $38 million systems integration contract by STRADCOM Corp., the winning consortium of the nationwide Land Transportation Office Information Technology (LTO-IT) Project.

STRADCOM Corp., the winning bidder of the LTO-IT project, is a joint venture team composed of Strategic Alliance Development Corp. (STRADEC) and Comfac Corp., with NCR Philippines and Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) as its technical partners for the project.

As the prime systems integrator, Unisys will integrate LTO's mission-critical business processes, which include motor vehicle registration, drivers licensing, law enforcement and adjudication, revenue collection as well as government and private sector information sharing.

Unisys will install and operate computers and communications networks at the LTO's central office in Quezon City -- which covers the metropolitan capital area -- 14 regional offices, approximately 214 district and other field offices, all mobile law enforcement units, and among the facilities of LTO service contractors and other government agencies and private subscribers.

When completed, the nationwide LTO project is expected to speed the agency's online document processing and eventually enhance its revenue collection. The project will provide a comprehensive database on land transportation, real-time flow of information among LTO's 230 offices as well as connections with other government and private information networks including those on the Worldwide Web.
