Unisys creates Web-based systems so new International

e-telco can provide low-cost online service

Unisys Corporation announced today that TELINT GLOBAL, a new international telecommunications company based in England, has selected Unisys to help provide its broadband telecommunication services via the Internet to small to medium-size companies, as well as private individuals who want to use the Internet on a professional basis.

Unisys is working closely with TELINT's European technical headquarters near Berlin to develop and implement a complex Internet-based operation support system that automates customer contact, invoicing, credit investigations, contract management, and marketing.

Thanks to the system's extensive automation, TELINT GLOBAL requires very low staffing levels for its business operations while provide world-class customer service. The solution has already been partially implemented and it is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The initial phase of the implementation process for the Unisys solution has already been completed and includes everything TELINT GLOBAL needs for the smooth operation of its broadband telecommunication services. This includes credit investigation, customer acceptance, collection procedures and problem management.

If a customer has a question concerning the invoice, he/she may send it to the TELINT call centre via e-mail. The same applies for any technical problems, which are received using a special "trouble ticket system" -- based on a system developed by Remedy -- and forwarded for problem resolution by the call centre.

Very shortly, companies and individuals who want to purchase TELINT GLOBAL services will be able to use the Unisys solution to register as customers via the Internet. They can choose the individual services they require from the available TELINT product range. Invoices will be prepared each month based on the services provided and list the individual connections.

GLOBAL TELINT will send the invoices by e-mail, and the customer can approve the invoice for payment online via direct debit or credit card. The invoicing system, customized by Unisys for TELINT GLOBAL, is based on the billing software from Geneva Technology Ltd. This system is notable for its high flexibility.

As a result, TELINT GLOBAL can take into account such things as individual service packages and discount regulations and prepare invoices for direct customers and resellers.
