Unisys Receives 10-Year Service Award from Defense Courier Service.


MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 25, 1997--Unisys Corp. announced Friday that its Federal Systems Division (FSD) has received a 10-year Service Award from the Defense Courier Service The Defense Courier Service (DCS),is established under the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), and is a global courier network for the expeditious, cost-effective, and secure distribution of highly classified and sensitive material.  (DCS), the jointly-staffed, Department of Defense command reporting to the United States Transportation Command The unified command with the mission to provide strategic air, land, and sea transportation and common-user port management for the Department of Defense across the range of military operations. Also called USTRANSCOM. .

DCS controls a global network of 22 courier stations responsible for the secure movement of the nation's most highly classified and sensitive national security material.

Unisys FSD began working with DCS in 1986 providing Unisys U5000/50 and U5000/90 Unix systems, software and maintenance support. Over the years, FSD has upgraded those systems, re-written database software, installed Lotus CC mail, and provided consulting in bar code technology, Defense Data Network integration, digitized I.D. cards and In-Transit Visibility

The award presentation was made at the Unisys facility in Reston, and was given to FSD by USAF Major Frederick Bromley III, director of C4 Systems, on behalf of USAF Colonel Clarence Johnson, DCS Commander.

Receiving the award for Unisys FSD was T. J. Miller, vice president and general manager, Information Services and Solutions; Bob Delleo, vice president, Information Engineering Services; and Don Panzica, Information Engineering Services program manager.
