) for its three U.S. Open golf championships, beginning with the 102nd U.S. Open Championship at Bethpage State Park's renowned Black Course from Thursday, June 13, to Sunday, June 16, in Farmingdale, N.Y.

As part of its ongoing partnership with the USGA, Unisys serves as the sole provider of computerized golf scoring and information services, relaying scores and play statistics to tournament attendees and organizers, the Web, television broadcasters and viewers at home.

New Intermec Handheld Computers Capture Scores at Greenside

To ensure that information is provided quickly and accurately to multiple audiences, as in past years, Unisys will utilize powerful wireless handheld computers from Intermec Technologies Corporation to record shots and scoring at greenside. Making its U.S. Open debut, the flexible Intermec Model 710 utilizes a Microsoft Windows for Pocket PC operating system.

Scoring System Integral to Other Golf Championships

The integrated Unisys scoring system also will be utilized at the U.S. Senior Open Championship, which will be held June 27 through 30 at the Caves Valley Golf Club in Baltimore and the 2002 U.S. Women's Open Championship, scheduled for July 4 through 7 at Prairie Dunes Country Club Prairie Dunes Country Club is a golf course in Hutchinson, Kansas. It is frequently ranked among the best golf courses in the United States, and has hosted several United States Golf Association national championship tournaments.  in Hutchinson, Kan.
