 and carriers, announced today the availability of the Network Management Center (NMC-RX), and a complete set of market-leading network management products to provision and control the Edge Routing Switch See layer 3 switch.  (ERX ERX Electronic Prescribing

) product family. These advanced management solutions for data networks allow service providers to create, provision and ensure the performance of next generation IP services.

The NMC-RX platform delivers a comprehensive element management system for creating and provisioning next generation data services on the ERX. Unisphere's NMC-RX streamlines provisioning tasks with intelligent automation that allows service providers to quickly and cost-effectively rollout out massive Digital Subscriber Line (DSL DSL

) deployments. The JAVA-based application is platform-independent, enabling service providers to cost-effectively manage the network 24-hours per day.

&uot;Service providers can not afford to be hampered by time-consuming and error-prone provisioning tasks as the scale of DSL deployment continues to rise,&uot; said Dana Rasmussen, vice president of product management, Unisphere Solutions. &uot;We are offering a best-of-breed network management solution that works in conjunction with other industry-leading network management products to provide a secure and cost-effective platform for the creation and delivery of new services. Service providers will have the edge needed to stay ahead of the intense competition and their customers will benefit from guaranteed service levels and expanded service options.&uot;

A key feature of Unisphere's NMC-RX allows service providers to manage the network in terms of subscribers in addition to physical elements. Therefore, in case of a network disruption, service providers can determine what subscribers will be affected and proactively alert those specific customers of any problems. Using the NMC-RX, service providers can also assess each subscriber's network usage, and can suggest additional bandwidth based on individual customer assessments.

In addition, Unisphere is announcing the availability of three new management products based on the Unisphere Management Center (UMC UMC United Methodist Church

-- Service performance analysis and report management for entire ERX networks with PROVISO A condition, stipulation, or limitation inserted in a document.

A condition or a provision in a deed, lease, mortgage, or contract, the performance or non-performance of which affects the validity of the instrument. It generally begins with the word provided.
(R) by Quallaby to allow service providers and their subscribers to access network health information, analyze traffic trends and monitor service level agreements (SLAs).

-- Real-time fault management and sophisticated event correlation Event Correlation is the processes involved with reducing a large number of incident alerts to a much smaller, more manageable number within automated monitoring and incident/problem management in a Support Management System.  with Micromuse's Netcool(R) to allow service providers to quickly respond to network problems and proactively anticipate changing network requirements.
