Unique orthopedic event unites industry's sectors: second annual event builds on last year's success.

Following a successful inaugural event in October last year, the Orthopedic Design & Technology Conference & Exhibition returns to the Grand Wayne Center in Fort Wayne, IN on October 29-31.

More than 75 exhibitors and 400 attendees are expected, and this year's lineup of speakers and interactive sessions builds on the high-quality, in-depth information presented during the 2006 ODT Expo.

The program will bring together leading manufacturers, industry suppliers, physicians and members of the financial community to examine emerging design, technology, the current reimburse" merit environment and market trends in orthopedic manufacturing. In addition, the ODT Expo also will serve as a valuable networking forum for suppliers, contract manufacturers, and other industry representatives.

Attendees will hear from and interact with experts representing such industry-leading organizations as Stryker, Smith & Nephew, Theken Spine, Biomet, Zimmer, Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson's DePuy division, Exactech, Wright Medical Technology, Orthofix, Deloitte Consulting, and the Hospital for Special Surgery.

On Oct. 30, following a keynote address by J. Patrick Anderson, vice president of corporate affairs for Stryker, dual tracks will offer attendees the option of participating in engineering and design sessions, manufacturing business issues sessions, or finding the right mix of both to fit individual interests and needs. Robin Young, industry analyst, as well as founder and president of RRY Publications, will present "Managing Intellectual Property as Your Company Innovates," during the business issues track.

To provide unique perspective into the orthopedics via the sports medicine field, which drives much of the innovation in this sector, another keynote speaker is physician and author Brian Hainline, MD, chief medical officer of the US Open tennis championship and chief of neurology and integrative pain medicine at ProHealth Care Associates in Lake Success, NY.

Tandy Freeman, MD, medical director of the two top rodeo organizations in the world, also will share insight into how modern orthopedic technology has helped his patients.

For qualified, pre-registered OEMs, attendance for this year's event is free. For all others, the early-bird registration price for the conference and exhibit floor is $395 (until Oct. 1). An exhibit pass-only also is available. For more information on attending, the agenda, speakers and the conference venue, please visit www.odtexpo.com or e-mail info@odtexpo.com.
