Union Carbide Union Carbide Corporation (Union Carbide) is one of the oldest chemical and polymers companies in the United States, and currently has more than 3,800 employees. and EniChem S.p.A. announced that their boards of directors have approved formation of Polimeri Europa S.r.l., a 50-50 European joint venture company, to develop, manufacture and sell polyethylene polyethylene (pŏl'ēĕth`əlēn), widely used plastic. It is a polymer of ethylene, CH2=CH2, having the formula (-CH2-CH2-)n resins resins, n.pl complex, insoluble, sticky substances secreted by plants. Used as astringents, antimicrobials, and antiinflammatories, and are burned as incense. Can cause oral ulcers and epidermal irritations. . Assets of the new Milan, Italy-based company include all of EniChem's polyethylene production and research and development facilities in Italy, Germany and France, as well as ethylene ethylene (ĕth`əlēn') or ethene (ĕth`ēn), H2C=CH2, a gaseous unsaturated hydrocarbon. It is the simplest alkene. production capacity in Brindisi, Italy and Dunkirk, France. The joint venture company's assets also include the use of Union Carbide's gas-phase Unipol Process for the manufacture of polyethylene.
