LAS VEGAS -- Uniden America Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wireless consumer electronics, today introduces new portable GPS navigation devices and Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (communications, standard) Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications - (DECT, formerly ".. Uniden's portable GPS products are characterized by compact designs, large displays and the latest GPS technology. The first models to be introduced: the GPS352 and the GPS402. Innovative features offered by Uniden's GPS devices include ultra fast processing speeds and WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) A system of earth stations and satellites that improves the tracking accuracy of the GPS navigation system to approximately 10 feet.  accuracy (Wide Area Augmentation System The Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) is an elevated-accuracy navigation system developed for civil aviation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a division of the United States Department of Transportation (DOT). ) to 3 meters with more than two million points of interest. Uniden also introduces their first new interference-free DECT 6.0 cordless telephones. The line-up includes two feature-rich models, the DECT 1080-2 and the DECT 1060-2, and utilizes technology that operates on the 1.9 GHz frequency band, enabling consumers to avoid interference with many household products, such as baby monitors, microwaves, and WiFi. Uniden's DECT phones are whole-house telecommunications solutions that are perfect for the busy home or small office.

Cordless Telephones:

* 5.8 GHz Digital Expandable: Full-featured 5.8 GHz digital line with several expandable models (up to 10 handsets).

* 5.8 GHz Digital Bundles: Full-featured 5.8 GHz digital line including two, three and four handsets in bundled packages.

* 2.4 GHz Digital Expandable: Full-featured 2.4 GHz digital expandable system with up to four handsets.

Peer-to-Peer Technology:

* WIN 1200: Capable of making and receiving Windows Live Messenger Microsoft's instant messaging (IM) service, which provides text messaging, voice calling, file sharing and video phoning. Windows Live Messenger combines the previous MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger clients into one system under the Windows Live umbrella. [R] Voice Chat calls over the Internet, as well as placing phone calls via a traditional landline, consumers can connect the WIN 1200 to a PC capable of running Windows Live Messenger to place phone calls to users all over the world free of charge.

GMRS/FRS Radios:

* GMRS Series: Uniden's rugged GMRS series of handheld two-way radios communicate up to a 20-mile range. These innovative radios offer unique features like voice scramble for enhanced privacy as well as Group/Direct Call, allowing members of a radio group to place calls to a specific person within the group.

Scanners:

* BC-RH96 Remote Control Head: This product allows users to access and control the functions of a scanner from a remote location, including volume and squelch. The Uniden BC-RH96 allows complete remote operation of several of the company's key scanners, including the BCD (Binary Coded Decimal) The storage of numbers in which each decimal digit is converted into binary and is stored in a single character or byte. For example, a 12-digit number would take 12 bytes.
