Uni for non-uni types.

PAISLEY University has unveiled a science course aimed at students who feel university is not for them.

The one-year Certificate of Higher Education in applied science is designed for sixth- year pupils who expect to achieve one Higher in science, maths or technology.

Dr Ciaran Ewins of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology stresses the course is not the first year of a traditional science degree. It is a stand-alone course which prepares students for employment with IT, lab and communication skills.

The university is running a series of taster courses in June.

Pupils taking part will have guaranteed entry to the applied science course as long as their school provides a positive recommendation.

Call Dr Ewins on 0141-848 3206 for further details.
