Unemployment Rate in Bulgaria at 10.8% in July.

A total of 18 301 unemployed found work in July, according to Bulgaria's Employment Agency (EA), up by 4000 from the same period in 2011.

According to an EA media statement, the increase is due to the higher number of people who found employment on the primary market under schemes of the Human Resources Development Operational Program (HRDOP) and the active cooperation of employment intermediaries at labor offices.

In July 2012, a total of 8346 unemployed found work on the primary market, up by 785 from July 2011.

A total of 6738 unemployed found work thanks to schemes and programs of the HRDOP, up by 3754 year on year.

Employment incentives under Bulgaria's Employment Encouragement Act helped 123 people find work.

Labor offices in Bulgaria registered 356 536 unemployed in July 2012, up by 1711 as compared to June 2012.

In July 2012, the unemployment rate was 10.8%.

In July 2012, 9790 primary market vacancies were announced in labor offices.

Compared to July 2011, the number of primary market vacancies grew by 643.

In July 2012, the private sector offered 6647 job opportunities.

The highest number of vacancies registered by labor offices was in the processing industry (2786), trade (1566), construction (686), real estate (544), hotels and restaurants (539), education (482), financial and insurance activities (464), agriculture (452), transport (451), and administrative and auxiliary activities (424).

In July 2012, a total of 6859 vacancies were announced under schemes of HRDOP and 366 vacancies were announced under employment programs.
