Local mobile telecom provider Unefon will break away from local media giant TV Azteca TV Azteca is the second largest Mexican television network. It was established in 1968 as the state-owned Instituto Mexicano de la Televisión ("Imevisión"), and was privatized under its current name in 1993. Its flagship program is the newscast Hechos.  by the end of the current year, bringing an end to three years of investor concerns over Unefon's monetary dependence on TV Azteca, announced the companies. TV Azteca, Mexico's No. 2 television broadcaster, currently owns 46.5% of Unefon.
