Examples of key findings from the latest survey, conducted with more than 2,700 American adults, include: 54 percent of the online adult population use the Internet for healthcare and 25 percent of adults who visit disease sites have requested specific brand-name prescriptions from their physicians. Consumers also desire more online interaction with their physicians. The study also dispels a number of commonly held misconceptions about women as healthcare consumers, finding instead that women's health is not the No. 1 e-health content type among women.
