: Understanding and Using Idioms Appropriately, beginning Thursday, Oct. 1 and Five Steps to Better Business Writing, starting Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Idioms in American English is a six meeting workshop for foreign-born professionals who would like to improve their understanding of American idioms.

This course identifies and makes sense of frequently used American idioms and verb phrases verb phrase

. This course also enhances the non-native speaker's comfort with American idioms, builds social confidence and allows full participation in workplace culture. This workshop will meet Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. Oct 1 through Nov. 5.

Five Steps to Better Business Writing is an intensive workshop to help the foreign-born professional produce clear written business documents in less time and with less stress.

Both workshops will be held at UCSC Extension's Cupertino site located at 10420 Bubb Rd.
