A report by the Department of Health found that teenagers with serious behavioural problems are twice as likely to drink regularly. And one-third of 14- to 16-year-olds with disorders admitted to drinking once a week or more. The report also showed that 11- to 13-year-olds who displayed aggressive behaviour were more likely to have had exposure to alcohol than those who weren't violent. And that teenagers with emotional problems were 1.5 times as likely as non-sufferers to consume alcohol at least once a week (Daily Telegraph, 02/09/05, p.29).
