 Institute of Women, Gender and Development Studies has held two workshops in January and February, 2008 in collaboration with the Social Research Center, American University Cairo and Cairo University Cairo University (previously the Egyptian University and later Fouad the First University) is an institute of higher education located in Giza, Egypt. The university was founded on December 21, 1908 as the result of an effort to establish a national center for . The first was a five days training on Women Memory Forum which included 25 participants including media people, journalists, actors, directors and poets. The second workshop was on "talking empowerment in Arabic" and included key national experts in the area of women and gender studies.
