(networking) NSS - Nodal Switching System. ) Acquisition Policy 03-01 The NSS Acquisition Policy 03-01 falls under the authority of DoD Directive 5000.1 and will be used for DoD Space Major Defense Acquisition Programs, replacing processes and procedures described in the DoD Instruction 5000.2 under the jurisdiction of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics The Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics is the title of a high-level civilian official in the United States Department of Defense. The Undersecretary of Defense for Policy is the principal staff assistant and advisor to both the Secretary of Defense (USD-AT & L). I am authorizing the release of the NSS Acquisition Policy 03-01 as final guidance for defense space systems. It supersedes the NSS Acquisition Policy Interim Guidance, issued 26 Feb 03 and is effective immediately.
