Undemocratic principles.Thank you for the editorial Freedom and Its Limits" in the July July: see month. 18 issue of The Advocate. The comments need to be stated over and over by all gay groups to the public (and to ourselves). The rightists and the president are changing our democratic system into a theocracy theocracy Government by divine guidance or by officials who are regarded as divinely guided. In many theocracies, government leaders are members of the clergy, and the state's legal system is based on religious law. Theocratic rule was typical of early civilizations. such as Iran. History shows that most wars and oppressive regimes are started by religious leaders or newly freed peoples who want to run the country "their" way (in a way that consolidates their power) and not in a way that promotes rules for the benefit of all the people. "Democracy" is a wonderful system but seldom lasts very long. It requires a population of unselfish people. It requires people who "live" their love of their fellow humans. Democracy requires a population that pursues life, not money and/or and/or conj. Used to indicate that either or both of the items connected by it are involved. Usage Note: And/or is widely used in legal and business writing. power to the disadvantage In policy debate, a disadvantage (abbreviated as DA, and sometimes referred to as a Disad) is an argument that a team brings up against a policy action that is being considered. Structure A DA usually has four key elements. of other people. With the above thought in mind, it is easy to understand why some of our government is presently quite undemocratic.
