The bank also plans to use Mark IV, BizMark and Cypress' WebApp module in its "Store of the Future" concept. The software combination will give customers the ability to complete and submit loan applications via in-store kiosks or over the Internet.

"With Cypress, we are a partner, not just a number," said Shannon Johnson Shannon Regina ("Pee Wee") Johnson (born August 18, 1974 in Hartsville, South Carolina) is an American basketball player for the Detroit Shock in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). , vice president and manager of retail lending at Umpqua Bank. "Umpqua Bank is a very progressive institution that provides a refreshing approach to retail and small business banking. This partnership is a considerable honor and achievement for Cypress," said Stephen G. Sargent, president and chief executive officer of Cypress Software Systems. "Our Mark IV, BizMark and WebApp software will help Umpqua further automate their consumer and commercial loan decisioning, ultimately leading to decreased costs, increased lending productivity and higher customer service."

Cypress' Mark IV offers flexible, risk-based processing software for consumer loans that tracks applications from the point of entry to the point of decision. Mark IV lets lenders take loan applications electronically while interviewing applicants, quickly retrieve and interpret credit reports, efficiently review sources of repayment, and deploy their loan policies. This ultimately leads to a quick, automated loan decision.

Similarly, the company's BizMark software processes small business commercial loan requests within a customer relationship management (CRM (Customer Relationship Management) An integrated information system that is used to plan, schedule and control the presales and postsales activities in an organization. ) environment. It consists of a Cypress-delivered .Net/Microsoft SQL Server An earlier relational DBMS from Sybase and from Microsoft. Sybase introduced SQL Server in 1988 for various Unix versions. In that same year, with help from IBM, Sybase created an OS/2 version that Microsoft licensed and branded as Microsoft SQL Server.  platform that handles requests for lines of credit, term loans, commercial mortgages, corporate leases and corporate credit cards.

Cypress' WebApp module works with Mark IV and BizMark, displaying the appropriate loan application forms that customers can access via the financial institution's Web site, in either an offsite or in-store kiosk venue. Applicants complete and submit the request over a secure Internet connection directly to Mark IV or BizMark. The software then automatically sends the application through credit retrieval, underwriting and decisioning, followed by an appropriate automated response back to the consumer.
