Ubisys and Cognito Partner to 'Turn Up' Mobile ROI.

BIRMINGHAM, England -- Cognito, and Ubiquitous Systems Ltd (Ubisys) today announced a technology and commercial partnership. The partnerships will bring together for the first time the ability for organisations to deploy solutions for their end users through the integration of Digital Pen and Paper in to the Cognito Managed Mobile Workflow Solution.

As Steve Austin Steve Austin can refer to:
  • Stephen F. Austin (1793-1836), founder of Republic of Texas
  • Steve Austin, a fictional character from the Martin Caidin novel Cyborg and subequent sequels, and later the TV series The Six Million Dollar Man
, Cognito's UK Solution Partner Manager explains, "As the demand for mobile solutions grows so does the need for suppliers to deliver a choice of data entry method for their mobile workforce". He continues "Until now, organisations saw the options as either PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) A handheld computer for managing contacts, appointments and tasks. It typically includes a name and address database, calendar, to-do list and note taker, which are the functions in a personal information manager (see PIM).  or digital pen; however, through our agreement with Ubisys we can now harmonise these technologies and bring to market a combined solution offering many benefits to customers."

The power of harnessing of these two technologies has been successfully proved already at Peterborough City Council where Gas Servicing engineers, using Cognito software and PDAs for job scheduling In a large computer, establishing a job queue to run a sequence of programs over any period of time such as a single shift, a full day, etc.  are now completing the Corgi corgi: see Cardigan Welsh corgi; Pembroke Welsh corgi.  CP12 form using the Digital Pen and seamlessly passing the information through the Cognito system.

Steve Austin explains "This newly integrated process enables the mobile worker to issue a paper record to the client whilst, at the same time, capturing data directly on the PDA. This data is merged and communicated, as data fields, over the Cognito service to update back end data sources with timely and accurate data."

The two companies intend to market the solution further in to the Public and Private sectors. Tarek Ghouri, MD of Ubisys explains "Together Ubisys and Cognito are delivering a unique solution that enables organisations to enhance the Return On Investment either already being achieved or being planned through mobile workforce enablement"

Simply by writing on normal paper, that has had a pattern of tiny dots printed on it, the pen captures hand writing and stores it in its memory. Once the form is complete, by ticking 'Send', the data is sent over a mobile network or by USB USB
