UTA REACHES AGREEMENT ON PRISM MIRROR TECHNOLOGY
DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- United Technologies

Automotive (UTA) has negotiated a licensing agreement with de Montfort Management Ltd., of the United Kingdom, for prism mirror technology.
UTA is the first North American automotive mirror supplier to conclude licensing negotiations for this technology, positioning UTA to pursue opportunities for the prism mirror in the North American automotive market.
Prism mirror technology was developed and patented by de Montfort's Peter Milner. It uses a system of glass and prisms to bend light and images in such a way that a vehicle's exterior rearview mirror can be designed not to protrude beyond the widest part of the vehicle's body. The image is displayed to the driver inside the vehicle.
The mirror's low-profile protrusion offers greater styling flexibility and improved aerodynamics. The image's display inside the vehicle assures the driver of an unobstructed rear view.
