USI Names Leonard Chief Financial Officer.SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 1999--Bernard H. Mizel, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of USI Insurance Services Corp. (USI), announced today that Michael T. Leonard has been appointed Chief Financial Officer. In this capacity, Leonard will have financial oversight for USI and its member companies, and develop and oversee administration and fiscal policies for the organization. Leonard has been Senior Vice President, Administration and Finance, for USI since 1994. Commenting on the appointment, Mizel stated, "I am extremely pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Leonard Michael "Mike" Leonard (born November 30 1947) is an American television journalist presently working for The Today Show on NBC. Leonard has been a feature correspondent for the Today Show for over 20 years, and is known for his stories on everyday life and the unique, creative way to the position of Chief Financial Officer of USI. This promotion reflects Mike's outstanding work for the company since joining us in August 1994. I respect him as a colleague and as a close friend. He is an integral part of the success of USI." Leonard began his insurance career in 1979 with Vaughn Insurance Group, King of Prussia King of Prussia, industrialized suburban area (1990 pop. 18,406), Montgomery co., SE Pa. It has glass and steel fabricating, food processing, printing and publishing, and varied manufacturing (textiles, liquified petroleum gas, water-treatment and electrical , Pa., as Controller and later, as Treasurer. In 1982, he joined Warren Welsh and Rental Insurance Services in Exton, Pa., as Controller. After these firms merged with Inter/National Rental Insurance, a holding company that subsequently became WRIMS WRIMS Water Resource Information Management System (EPA) , Corp., Leonard assumed the position of Treasurer, and later Chief Financial Officer. When WRIMS joined the USI family in August 1994, he joined the USI corporate team as Senior Vice President and National Controller. Leonard holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Scranton The University of Scranton is a private, co-educational Jesuit university, located in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in the northeast region of the state. The school was founded in 1888 by Most Rev. William O'Hara, the first Bishop of Scranton, as St. Thomas College. .
