USHCC Elects New Chair and Vice Chair of The Board.


WASHINGTON -- The United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC USHCC United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce ) Board of Directors elected businessmen David Lizarraga Chair-Elect and Frank Rivera, Vice-Chair-Elect. The elections were held at a recent board meeting in Austin, Texas, site of the USHCC's 25th Annual National Convention.

"Mr. Lizarraga and Mr. Rivera are both well-known and respected business and community leaders at the local, state and national levels," said USHCC Acting President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. From the state of California, Lizarraga is recognized as one of the country's top Hispanic business leaders. He was elected to the USHCC Board of Directors in August of 2003 representing Region I, which is comprised of seven western states. Lizarraga is sought after as a resource for his guidance on issues involving the Hispanic community, business and civic affairs, inner-city lending and real estate development. For more than 28 years, Lizarraga has overseen the growth and expansion of The East Los Angeles East Los Angeles, uninc. city (1990 pop. 126,379), Los Angeles co., S Calif., a residential suburb of Los Angeles, in an industrial area. It has a large Mexican-American population. There is a performing arts center and a cultural center. A junior college is there.  Community Union (TELACU), a non-profit community development corporation founded in 1968, which is now the largest Hispanic business in Los Angeles County. From the state of Arizona, Rivera represents the mid-western states that make up Region II. He is President, CEO and majority owner of ATL (Active Template Library) A set of software routines from Microsoft that provide the basic framework for creating ActiveX and COM objects.
