Lieutenant Helton is the Fire Direction Officer for C Battery, 1st Battalion 103d Field Artillery, part of the 103d Field Artillery Brigade, Rhode Island Army National Guard (ARNG ARNG - Army National Guard). He is a member of the Rhody Redlegs Chapter. Family of Enlisted Member. Kristi S. Saumer of Pine City, Minnesota, is a Sophomore at Bemidji Bemidji (bəmĭj`ē), city (1990 pop. 11,245), seat of Beltrami co., N central Minn., on lakes Bemidji and Irving, through which flows the Mississippi River; inc. 1896. It is in a summer and winter resort and sport fishing area; tourism is the major industry. State University in Bemidji majoring in Early Childhood Education and has a 3.25 GPA. Her father, Sergeant Major Daniel M. Saumer, is the Sergeant Major for the J3 J3 - Joint Staff, Operations J3 - Operations Directorate in the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations for the Minnesota ARNG. He is a member of the Gopher Gunners Chapter. Family of Officer Member. Christina K. Isper of Lawton Lawton, city (1990 pop. 80,561), seat of Comanche co., SW Okla.; inc. 1901. It is a commercial and trade center for the surrounding cotton, wheat, and cattle area. Fort Sill is the largest local civilian employer. Lawton's industries include machining and the production of baked goods, meat, rubber products, apparel, and steel. Cameron Univ. and the Museum of the Great Plains are in the city. Nearby is a large limestone quarry and the Wichita Mts. Wildlife Refuge., Oklahoma, is a Junior at Cameron University in Lawton majoring in Marketing with a 4.00 GPA. Her husband, Captain Eric M. Isper, is a Gunnery Instructor in the Field Artillery School at Fort Sill Fort Sill, U.S. military reservation, Comanche co., SW Okla., 4 mi (6.4 km) N of Lawton; est. 1869 by Gen. Philip Sheridan. A 95,000-acre (38,445-hectare) field artillery and missile base, it is the home of the U.S. Army Artillery and Missile Center. Fort Sill was named in memory of Joshua W. Sill, a Civil War general. and a member of the Red Team Chapter. 2004 Scholarships. The scholarships are for worthy USFAA USFAA - United States Federal Aviation Administration members and their family members to help them attain their academic or vocational goals. To compete, applicants must be admitted to an accredited university, college or vocational undergraduate program of study; and complete, sign and submit the application packet to the USFAA by the deadline (US Field Artillery Association, P.O. Box 33027, Fort Sill, Oklahoma 73503-0027). The forms and details of the application are available online at www.usfaa.com or by calling the Association at (580) 355-4677. The deadline for the 2004 USFAA Scholarships is 1 July 2004. Potential applicants should note that incomplete packets will not be considered. Among other requirements, the applicant must provide a high school or college transcript, as applicable; an estimate of annual schooling expenses and itemization of his/her income and other grants or scholarships; three reference forms filled out; and a statement of his/her educational goals. In 2004, the Association will award at least one $1,000 scholarship in each of the three categories with the potential for the award of additional scholarships of the same or lesser amounts, depending on the availability of funds and the discretion of the USFAA Scholarship Committee; all decisions are final. Scholarship awards will be mailed directly to the winners' schools' scholarship offices or the bursars. |
