U-HAUL U-Haul International, Inc. is a North American equipment rental company, based in Phoenix, Arizona, that has been in operation since 1945. The company was founded by Leonard Shoen (1916-1999) in Ridgefield, Washington, who began it in the garage owned by his wife's family, and  CONTRACT: Agoura Hills-based Electronic Clearing House Inc. has won a bid to provide credit card processing for the independent dealers of U-Haul International. Electronic Clearing House will add the credit card functions to the software and hardware it has already provided for inventory processing and daily transactions at roughly 11,000 dealers in the U-Haul network.

FAST TOWN: The Valley was well represented last week when Deloitte & Touche unveiled its annual Fast 50 list of Greater L.A.'s fastest-growing tech companies. It was Camarillo Camarillo (kă'mərē`yō), city (1990 pop. 52,303), Ventura co., S Calif.; inc. 1964. It is the center of a fertile farm area where citrus fruits and flowers are grown. , however, that stole the show. The Ventura County city had more companies among the Fast 50 - which lists the 50 fastest-growing technology companies based on revenue growth over the last five years - than any other city in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Camarillo had six companies on the list (compared to Los Angeles' 10 and Calabasas' 5). And a seventh - ACT Networks - moved to Calabasas earlier this year from Camarillo, giving the Ventura County city bragging rights for about 4-1/2 years of ACT's five-year growth.
