) announced today that W. Lance Wright has been elected senior vice president human resources and administration by the USEC Board of Directors. As a senior vice president, Wright will join the senior management team and report directly to James R. Mellor, chairman and chief executive officer.

In announcing the promotion, Mellor said, "Lance has been highly valued as head of our vital human resources function. As a member of our senior management team, Lance will have an important role in helping to move us forward with our new American Centrifuge centrifuge (sĕn`trəfyj), device using centrifugal force to separate two or more substances of different density, e.g., two liquids or a liquid and a solid.  production efforts and in seeking and implementing growth opportunities."

Wright joined USEC in August 2003 as vice president, human resources and administration. He has been responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of the Company's human resource management plans and programs for its 2,900 employees.

Prior to joining USEC, Wright held executive positions in Boyden Global Executive Search, Mobil Oil (now ExxonMobil Corporation) Europe and the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO) in Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands.

Wright earned his B.S. degree in political science from Eastern Michigan University Eastern Michigan University, mainly at Ypsilanti, Mich.; coeducational; founded 1849 as a normal school, became Eastern Michigan College in 1956, gained university status in 1959.  and his M.S. degree in industrial relations and personnel management from the London School of Economics and Political Science London School of Economics and Political Science, at London, England; founded 1895, recognized as a school of the Univ. of London (see London, Univ. of) in 1900. .
