With this agreement, IBM and CableData can now more effectively offer customers a range of seamless, full service solutions designed to address the needs of a dynamic communications market.

Intelecable is a fully operational customer and transaction management and billing system for multiple telecommunications services such as cable television, cable/telephony, direct-to-home broadcast, and interactive broadband services such as Internet access and interactive video.

Intelecable first became operational in 1993 in support of cable/telephony systems in the United Kingdom, and was subsequently chosen to support a number of U.S. convergence pilots, such as BellSouth and GTE GTE General Telephone & Electronics

. Intelecable now operates at more than 50 sites worldwide such as Australia, Brazil, Chile, Japan, Portugal, Venezuela, The United Kingdom and the United States.

Installations for 12 additional customers in eight new countries are pending. Based both on the product's success and the advent of telecommunications deregulation in the United States, CableData's Intelecable has been made generally available to the North American market.
