USC FOOTBALL UPDATE: HOLT IS SET TO RETURN AS DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts to Steven Wolf and Susan Enowitch, Wolf was raised in West Orange, New Jersey. He graduated in 1986 from West Orange High School.

USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  coach Pete Carroll plans to hire former Idaho coach Nick Holt as defensive coordinator and defensive line coach, which means Carroll would relinquish defensive coordinator duties for the first time since becoming the Trojans' coach.

Holt was an assistant at USC from 2001 to 2003 before leaving for Idaho. He accepted a job with the NFL's St. Louis Rams

      Holt coached linebackers in his first stint at USC. He compiled a 5-18 record in two seasons at Idaho.

      ``He started out as a defensive line coach,'' Carroll said. ``He'll do a good job with them.''
