Could USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  fullback Brandon Hancock Brandon Hancock (born June 13, 1983) is an American football fullback who played for the University of Southern California Trojans. He quit due to health risks from knee injuries.  return for a bowl game?

It's a thought being considered because the senior is making a fast recovery after tearing knee ligaments last month.

``I'd like to suit up, run a play and maybe catch a ball,'' Hancock said. ``If the trainers feel I can, it might be cool.''

Hancock said he rides an exercise bike 20 miles a day and suffers no pain or atrophy in his knee since the operation.

``It's been a freakish freak·ish

 recovery,'' he said.

USC coach Pete Carroll Peter C. Carroll (born September 15, 1951, in San Francisco, California) is the current head coach of the University of Southern California Trojans football team, having held that position since 2001.  said he's discussed the possibility of a return with Hancock.

``I think it might be too farfetched but his will wants him to come back,'' Carroll said.

Carroll said he's impressed with converted safety David Buehler at fullback after just two practices.

``He'll be our fastest speed guy but we're not expecting him to play in this game,'' Carroll said.

Fullbacks Mike Brittingham and Jody Adewale played well enough in practice this week that USC might not need to utilize an extra tight end in its offense in lieu of a fullback.

No Jarrett: As expected, wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett Dwayne Jarrett (born September 11, 1986 in New Brunswick, New Jersey) is an American football wide receiver in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers. Early years
Jarrett attended New Brunswick High School in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
(sprained shoulder) will not accompany the team to Washington State. Jarrett said he wanted to go and watch, but Carroll said he needs every one of the 65 spots for healthy players.

``It's probably going to take some time,'' Jarrett said. ``I'm probably going to be out two weeks. I'm not missing four weeks.''

Nose guard Sedrick Ellis Sedrick Ellis (called Sed Ellis) (born May 9, 1985) is an american football defensive lineman, specializing as a nose tackle. College Career
Ellis was a CBS Sportsline, Sporting News, Lindy's and Street and Smiths preseason All-American for 2007.
(knee) will also miss the trip.

Cornerback Kevin Thomas Marvin Kevin Thomas (born July 28, 1978 in Phoenix, Arizona) is an American football cornerback in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills who was a standout football player at Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard, California, and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.  (sprained ankle) will play against Washington State and share time with Cary Harris, who has a slightly sprained ankle. Dallas Sartz is ready to play safety, if needed. Linebacker Brian Cushing did not practice to rest his sore ankle but said he would be fine.

Kick return change: Freshman tailback C.J. Gable will return kicks with Chris McFoy, a shake-up from previous games when Harris was the top kick returner. But with Harris starting at corner, USC decided to let him focus on defense.

``I'm hoping I can show what I can do,'' Gable said.

Freshman wide receiver Vidal Hazelton is a third option on kick returns and also worked as a punt returner this week in practices.

Moody again: Carroll said Emmanuel Moody would start at tailback but Chauncey Washington will get a bigger role because his hamstring feels better.

``We're going to lean on him more,'' Carroll said.
