``I was asked to talk to them and I said, `It's all about judgment,''' Trutanich said.

Trutanich, who is a USC graduate, appeared ready to sever ties with USC last spring when his daughter was denied admission to the university. But he said the football program asked him to speak.

Others who spoke included DeVallis Rutledge, a special counsel to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office, and Jim Amormino, the spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff's Department Orange County Sheriff's Department could refer to several sheriff's offices in the United States including:
  • Orange County Sheriff's Department (California)

Scrimmage recap: Freshman tailback Emmanuel Moody gained 128 yards and scored two touchdowns at the Coliseum as the offense played slightly better than in the previous scrimmage.

John David Booty John David Booty (born January 3, 1985, in Shreveport, Louisiana, U.S.) is the starting quarterback of the University of Southern California (USC) football team. He is called "John David", and sometimes referred to as J.D., because his father's name is John.  completed 10 of 22 passes for 113 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. Mark Sanchez was 7 of 14 for 107 yards with twotouchdowns and an interception.

USC coach Pete Carroll said nothing changed and Booty still was the No. 1 QB.

``I don't feel it's changed at all, there's not enough information to change anything,'' Carroll said. ``I'm pleased with the continuity.''

Moody had the biggest play with a 54-yard touchdown run.

Wright move: Freshman cornerback Shareece Wright has been elevated to nickel back in the absence of sophomore Kevin Thomas. Wright is backing up Cary Harris and comes in when the Trojans go with three cornerbacks.

Thomas, who experienced a nerve problem in his arm, was still awaiting test results Thursday afternoon but said he hoped to return this week.

``It only takes a few days to get into football shape,'' he said.

Holland cleared: Wide receiver Jamere Holland (Taft High of Woodland Hills) was academically certified by the NCAA NCAA

and is out for the season.

``It feels OK,'' Holland said. ``I'll be back.''

Washington closer: Tailback Chauncey Washington (hamstring) participated in some team drills during Thursday's morning workout and said he would probably be full-speed Tuesday.

``There's just a tad of tightness,'' Washington said. ``I've got to get to the point where I don't think about it.''

Washington said he pulled his hamstring because he didn't work out last spring while trying to get eligible and worked too hard when he returned in the summer.

``I think I shocked my body from working out so much,'' Washington said.
