USC FOOTBALL NOTEBOOK: BING PONDERS LEAVING EARLY.

Saturday's game against UCLA is USC's last home game for the Trojans' seniors, but it might also be a farewell for junior safety Darnell Bing, who could turn pro after the season.

``If it happens to come out being my last game, hopefully it's a good one,'' Bing said. ``You just have to wait and see how things turn out. We'll see how the last two games go, then we'll go from there.''

Last year, Bing said that he should be introduced during the senior farewell because he thought about turning pro before ultimately returning to USC. Bing admitted on Monday he will probably experience similar thoughts before the UCLA game.

``It might cross my mind for a minute,'' he said.

This is the one week of the season Bing doesn't speak to UCLA tight end Marcedes Lewis, a former teammate at Long Beach Poly High.

``We've never talked the week of the game and we always talk,'' Bing said. ``We wait to talk after the game.''

In his USC career, Bing is 5-0 against UCLA and Notre Dame.

--White update: Doctors confirmed that tailback LenDale White bruised his shoulder on Sunday and told him he would be able to play against UCLA.

White, who underwent X-rays, said he expected to play in the game.

``They said I could practice by Thursday and play Saturday,'' White said. ``It's kind of like a deep thigh bruise, it's easy to deal with, you just have to get a crazy amount of treatment.

``Now, if I feel pain or something like that on Saturday, it might be better to rest it.''

--Pac-10 honors: Tailback Reggie Bush was named the Pac-10's offensive player of the year while Carroll was co-coach of the year with UCLA's Karl Dorrell.

Bush, quarterback Matt Leinart, wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett, offensive guard Taitusi Lutui, center Ryan Kalil and offensive tackle Sam Baker made the first-team offense.

Safety Darnell Bing, defensive ends Frostee Rucker and Lawrence Jackson were first-team defensive selections.

White and offensive guard Fred Matua made the second-team offense while safety Scott Ware made the second-team defense.

Ironically, offensive tackle Winston Justice, considered the best NFL prospect, was the only lineman who did not make the first or second team but made honorable mention.

``It's really neat that all five offensive linemen got acknowledged by the Pac-10,'' Carroll said. ``That's a statement. They play great together.''

Although USC is seventh in the Pac-10 in punt returns, Bush was named to the second-team as a punt returner.
