USC CAN'T STOP STANFORD.

No. 11 Stanford shot 61 percent from the field while handing the USC women their worst loss of the season, 89-55 Friday night at the Lyon Center.

USC guard Kristin Clark had 20 points, but the Women of Troy (6-8, 1-4 Pacific-10) shot only 32.7 percent as a team.

Stanford's frontline had a big game, led by forward Kristin Folkl's 18 points, Olympia Scott's 16 and Heather Owen's eight points and 10 rebounds. Stanford improved to 7-5 overall, 4-1 in the Pac-10.

``We didn't do a good enough job of making it difficult for them,'' said USC coach Chris Gobrecht, ``That's the price of learning pains on defense.''

No. 14 Wisconsin 70, Northwestern 65: At Evanston, Ill., Katie Voigt had 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Badgers (13-4, 2-3 Big Ten) past the Wildcats (5-13, 0-6).

No. 25 Duke 96, Florida State 76: Nicole Erickson scored 18 points and had seven assists as the host Blue Devils (11-5, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) tied a school record for 3-pointers in a game (11) during a win over the Seminoles (5-10, 1-5).
