It's finally official: USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  played its last game in the Sports Arena because the Trojans' season ended Sunday night Sunday Night, later named Michelob Presents Night Music, was an NBC late-night television show which aired for two seasons between 1988 and 1990 as a showcase for jazz and eclectic musical artists.  when they were snubbed by the National Invitation Tournament.

USC (17-13) stumbled at the end, losing seven of its final nine games but Trojans coach Tim Floyd hoped victories over North Carolina North Carolina, state in the SE United States. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean (E), South Carolina and Georgia (S), Tennessee (W), and Virginia (N). Facts and Figures

``It's not for us to say if we should be in or not,'' Floyd said. ``There's a part of me that feels if you finish sixth in the conference, you should be out recruiting and trying to make the NCAA Tournament.

``At the same time, we would have welcomed the NIT. I've seen that tournament garner confidence for teams, like Memphis last year, and they hit the ground running the next year. It could have been beneficial. We'll have to move on.''

It's especially painful for older players such as junior guard Lodrick Stewart, who will not experience postseason play for the third straight season.

``Man, it's disappointing,'' Stewart said. ``We wanted to play in the NIT. But we still had a good season, especially after last year.''

With the season over, one of Floyd's first decisions will be whether to renew the scholarships of freshmen Keith Wilkinson and Collin Robinson. Floyd told each player when he signed them that they would only get one-year commitments although under NCAA NCAA

rules, they can appeal if the scholarships are not renewed.

At the moment, it's not looking good for either player. USC has only three scholarships available and signed four players in the fall. Unless someone leaves the program (turning pro, academics) Floyd needs one scholarship and probably both if he signs a fifth player.

``I'll talk to (Wilkinson and Robinson),'' Floyd said. ``I'll let you know at the appropriate time.''

Floyd is aggressively recruiting 6-foot-10 center Mamadou Diarra of Stoneridge Prep and former Lynwood High forward Davon Jefferson said he wants to attend USC, but is taking online courses in order to try and meet academic requirements and considered a long shot at the moment.

USC's next home game will be played at the new Galen Center, currently scheduled to open in mid-August. The Trojans are seeking a marquee opponent for the first game, but are finding it difficult to secure an opponent.
