USC ANALYSIS: NO WORRIES FOR TROJANS FOG, DEFICIT FAIL TO DERAIL USC.

Byline: Scott Wolf Scott Richard Wolf (born June 4, 1968) is an American actor.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts to Steven Wolf and Susan Enowitch, Wolf was raised in West Orange, New Jersey. He graduated in 1986 from West Orange High School.

``Rolling in on the bus, you couldn't see 10 feet in front of you,'' quarterback Matt Leinart said.

That didn't mean anyone was actually worried.

``It was fun,'' Leinart said. ``Rain, snow, fog. It doesn't matter.''

If there's a moral to this season, it's that nothing really fazes the Trojans (9-0, 6-0). Not even a 13-0 Oregon State lead in the second quarter.

``We've been in that position plenty of times,'' Bush said. ``With Stanford, with Virginia Tech. It's nothing to get excited about.''

About the only thing that gets a rise out of the Trojans is making sure they're ahead at the conclusion.

Only USC coach Pete Carroll complained about the fog because he couldn't make necessary substitutions on defense. The assistant coaches in the press box were unable to identify Oregon State players in the heavy mist, making adjustments difficult.

``We couldn't see. I couldn't tell who their personnel was,'' Carroll said. ``It absolutely affected us in the press box.''

It also affected Bush, who fumbled a punt return.

``The fog was definitely a factor. I just lost it a little bit,'' Bush said. ``I don't feel like I've had a good game if I had a fumble. You hate to fumble.''

Carroll also admitted disappointment with Bush's problems. The exciting tailback has fumbled three punts in the past four games.

``I'm always concerned about that,'' Carroll said. ``I couldn't be more concerned. That's the way you lose games.''

--Late-night scene: Well past 11 p.m. in the locker room Saturday night, Carroll spoke alone with tight end Dominique Byrd.

It's a sign of accomplishment when a player earns a one-on-one meeting, and it sure beat their previous, less-private conversation the previous day.

On Friday afternoon, Carroll let Byrd have it for making too many one- handed catches.

``It's better when you learn a lesson in front of your teammates,'' Byrd said.

Late Saturday night, Carroll complimented Byrd for two touchdown catches, including an impressive one-handed grab over Oregon State cornerback Brandon Browner.

``It's hard to make a two-handed catch when someone's pulling your arm behind your back,'' Byrd said about his one-handed reception.

--Coming up Roses: Just to make sure he's on message, Carroll repeated several times Sunday night that a victory over Arizona this week guarantees a trip to the Rose Bowl. The Orange Bowl, the national championship game, will not be mentioned. Asked who he hoped to face in the Rose Bowl, Carroll said: ``I don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)
