USAIR SHUTTLE OFFERS STUDENT/SENIOR DISCOUNT COUPON BOOKS
JACKSON HEIGHTS, N.Y., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The USAir Shuttle is reaching out to students and retirees with its new USAir Shuttle FlightPass Program, offering books of five and 10 discount flight coupons for $259 and $479 respectively. Coupon booklets must be purchased by Dec. 31, 1992.
No reservations are required for using the coupons, which are non-refundable and non-transferable. Valid one year from the date of issue, the coupons can be used for travel Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 7-10 p.m., all day Saturday and all day Sunday.
"With the USAir Shuttle FlightPass, students or seniors can fly between New York and Boston or Washington, D.C., for less than $50 one way," said Gordon Linkon, president and CEO of the USAir Shuttle. "This is a real bargain for students on a budget and retirees on a fixed income.
"It's also a way for the USAir Shuttle to build loyalty among today's students who will become tomorrow's business travelers, and to promote our service to retirees who do a lot of leisure traveling," Linkon said.
The coupon booklets are for sale to (1) students 24 years and younger who have a current photo identification from an accredited college or university, (2) non-students up to 22 years of age, and (3) seniors 65 years and older. Identification is required when presenting each coupon at the airport for transportation.
Booklets are available only at the USAir Shuttle ticket counters at Boston Logan, Washington National, and New York LaGuardia Airport. Travel agencies may issue a miscellaneous charges order to be redeemed for a coupon book at the shuttle ticket counters. Call a travel consultant or USAir at 800-428-4322 for more information.
Coupons are for airline fares only and do not include the $3 airport passenger facility charge for all departures at New York's LaGuardia Airport or the $1 fuel surcharge for departures at Boston Logan International Airport.
"It's a good idea for students and seniors purchasing a coupon book to join the USAir Frequent Traveler Program," said Linkon, "as they will earn 1,000 miles for each USAir Shuttle flight." After just 20,000 miles, FTP members earn a free trip anywhere on the USAir system in the continental United States or Canada. "Our program provides the fastest way to a free ticket to the most destinations," according to Linkon. Membership is instantaneous and applications are available at USAir Shuttle ticket counters.
