USAIR RECEIVES APPROVAL FROM TWA BANKRUPTCY COURT TO BUY TWA'S
 BALTIMORE-LONDON, PHILADELPHIA-LONDON ROUTES
ARLINGTON, Va., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- USAir said today that the federal judge handling TWA's bankruptcy filing has unconditionally approved USAir's previously announced $50 million purchase of Trans World Airlines' Baltimore-London and Philadelphia-London routes.
USAir plans to file immediately with the Department of Transportation for expedited approval of its application to begin service on these routes. USAir hopes to begin service to London's Gatwick Airport from the two cities in May. USAir currently serves Gatwick from Charlotte, N.C.
USAir and TWA originally reached a purchase agreement for the routes Dec. 20, 1991, but the transfer was delayed by the subsequent TWA bankruptcy action requiring court approval.
