USAIR OFFERS INTRODUCTORY CARIBBEAN FARES FOR FLIGHTS TO GRAND CAYMAN AND ST. THOMAS; ALSO SPECIAL SAVINGS ON SAN JUAN FARES

 ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- To promote its new Caribbean destinations of St. Thomas and Grand Cayman, USAir today began offering $198 to $278 roundtrip introductory fares to these cities from select U.S. destinations. These fares are also available for travel to San Juan in certain markets.
 The introductory fares are for travel Nov. 10, 1993, through Dec. 15, 1993, and tickets must be purchased by Oct. 4, 1993. The Grand Cayman fares are subject to government approval.
 "USAir is expanding in the Caribbean, and these special fares will increase awareness of our growing route network and also give customers an excellent travel value," said Trey Urbahn, USAir's director-pricing development.
 Beginning Nov. 10, 1993, USAir will offer daily nonstop service from its major hub at Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) to St. Thomas. That flight is also a one-stop to San Juan. On the return, USAir will offer direct service from St. Thomas to BWI with a brief stop in San Juan.
 Also on Nov. 10, USAir will offer nonstop roundtrip service from Tampa to Grand Cayman four days a week and from Charlotte to Grand Cayman three days a week.
 USAir operates more departures than any other airline at BWI, Tampa and Charlotte, allowing well-timed connections to the new St. Thomas and Grand Cayman flights for those customers originating in other cities.
 The introductory fares are nonrefundable, require a minimum stay of three days and a maximum stay of 21 days. The fares are available for outbound travel to St. Thomas/San Juan or Grand Cayman on Sunday through Wednesday and inbound travel to the United States from Tuesday through Friday. All travel must be completed by Dec. 15.
 In addition to low gateway fares, USAir will offer slightly higher introductory fares from a number of cities where passengers can fly to the gateway and connect to the St. Thomas/San Juan or Grand Cayman flights.

 In addition to promoting St. Thomas and Grand Cayman service with these introductory fares, USAir is offering comprehensive, competitively priced USAir Vacations packages to both destinations, including roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, destination perks and service guarantee. These packages were announced Sept. 7 and are for travel beginning Nov. 10.
